Mini-Circuits’ Filters Range DC to 40 GHz Using Suspended Substrate Stripline

Mini-Circuits’ suspended substrate stripline filter technology achieves low passband loss and high stopband rejection by suspending PCBs between parallel ground planes. The technology can be implemented as compact, low-loss, wideband multiplexers, and filters of all types, including bandpass, band stop, lowpass, and high pass filters with passbands and stopbands to 40 GHz. As an example, model ZHSS-K24G+ is a 50-Ω high pass filter with 24-to-40-GHz passband and DC-to-16-GHz stopband. It includes female 2.92-mm coaxial connectors in a compact housing and achieves typical passband insertion loss of 1.5 dB with typical passband VSWR of 2.0:1. Passband group delay is typically only 0.26 ns at 24 GHz, dropping to typically 0.16 ns at 40 GHz. Stopband rejection is typically 80 dB from DC to 15.0 GHz and 40 dB from DC to 18.5 GHz. The high pass filter is a good match for such applications as broadband communications, 5G, satcom, and ECM/ECCM electronic defense systems. The RoHS-compliant coaxial filter measures 1.30 × 0.48 × 0.60 in. (33.0 × 12.1 × 15.2 mm) and handles as much as 2 W input power at operating temperatures from -40 to +85°C.
